This photograph stood out the most out of your stack of deviations in my inbox. I adore how vibrant the complementary colors are. I'm also really amazed with the technical aspect of the photograph too. I would have never figured that the Nikon D3000 can take such crisp shots. I can see every detail around the bird's eye and even the tiniest bristles of feathers. The shallow depth of field also painted a nice green background. Your new 300mm zoom lens brings a lot of bang for the buck.
I can confidently say that this photograph will be in your top 5 of all time for a while. The only thing wrong with this shot is that I'm not the one who took it. Bravo!
congarats on the DD i have "saved" the 3 macaw species on zoo worl 2 on facebook & just the other day i found a photo in a draw i took of one at a real zoo I scanned it this morning I was just about to post it now I'm thinking maybe tomarrow cause this is so perfect it's like it's a pet parrot
What's amazing to me about this is how the "blue" iridescent feathers actually appear green from this angle! I've seen these birds several times before but I've never seen one catch the light like that.
